In June 2026 BAT celebrated 20 years of working in the community.
Over 60 people consisting of present and past sponsors, BAT supporters, councillors and friends attended our celebration at the Wharncliffe Arms. Music was provided by Bruno with food from the Ironstone Pie Company.
Thank you to all, especially Claire and her team at the Wharncliffe Arms.
An excellent night all round.
New bench
Following on from a request from a local resident, BAT liased with the local city councillors and are pleased that the council have been able to provide and install a new bench at the corner of Horbury and Windmill lane.
Acorn Recreation Ground
- A new 'Trimtrail' for young children is to be installed before the end of the year (2026) to replace the decayed wooden swans and stepping stumps.
- Following discussions and pressure from local residents we arranged to meet with the Parks and Public Realm Dept and it has been agreed that the area at the top of the Rec will be mowed regularly. The remainder will be mowed prior to the winter 'sledging season'
